Lost in the Darkness

She was going mad, how long had she been here, a week? A year? Eternity? The onlyt thing Khira knew was that she had been betrayed, and that she was angry enough to spit nails.

"When I get out of here, Rezo will pay for this." Khirah Wyyvern snarled to herself, and starined against the magical chains holding her to the wall. Khirah thought about how she could have avvoided tihs, she should have ran from Rezo when she had first woken up after the Raid. But instead, she had wanted revenge, and he had offered it. But still, after all this time, the ghosts from her past still haunted her, even in this person hell she had created. Khirah's lips curled in a bitter smile, yes she should have run, but that didn't matter now, all tha matter was that she was trapped here, and the spirits of her family and friend would never be laid to rest. Khirah thought about Laira, the young fairy who had been her best friend as she grew up. She then saw Toth, her baby brother runing across the yard; the sun shining down on his shiny mop of black hair. Hair just like her own at one time, a jet black, dark as midnight it had been said. Then saw Toth laying on the ground of their hutt, his dark red blood seeping into the sod floor. She her her mother scream as the bones in her body where broken one by one. It was that night that Khirah had become a Mazuko hunter. That night, her entire family and village was killed slowly, and painfully by a band of Mazuko lead by Garv, the Chaos Dragon. Khirah heard her father shout at her to run, ans she had. What else could an eleven year old girl do but run. And she ran right into the open arms of Rezo, the Red Priest. One of the Five 'Holy' Men of the Ages. She should have left, but she stayed with him, and he taught her how to exact her revenge against the Mazuko, and then he had betrayed her in the vilest way immaginable. He had turned her into a chimera.

A snarl resounded through the cave, and Khirah realized that it came from her own throat. She had left Rezo, and had stumbled upon Zella Metallium, and she had learned the true nature of the Mazuko. She had become aquainted with Zellas' preist Xellos, and a rivalry had sprund up between the immediately. Khirah smiled, she would have given just about anything if she could only see another living creature again, even Xellos with his thinly veiled insults, and malicious nature. If Mazuko could be considered alive. Instead, Khirah sank into a deep meditive state, and willed her soul to the Astral Plane. She glanced around and to her surprise, she saw a man standing on the oppisite side of the small pool thats banks she stood on. Khirah looked down at her reflection. Instead of the pale blue skin, she sported in the corperal world, her skin was the light tanned color it had been in her youth.

"Hello fellow Traveler." Khirah said softly to the man who stood across from her. He looked up at her with sapphire blue eyes that bore into her own gray laced lavender eyes. Khirah had to admit to herself that he was handsome. His skin was so pale, it was almost milky, and his dark blue hair flared dramatically from the sides of his head, and curled up.

"Hello." the man said simply, and left the Astral Plane.

"That was intersting." Khirah murmured to herself as she slipped back into her body. The next day, she went back to the pool, and he was there agian. Although his face was expressionless, his eyes shined warmly at her. Khirah begain to talk to him, and found that they both had a lot in common. He too was a maste rof Shamanism, and he was just explaining about how he had got here, and he paused.

"My friends are waking me up. Will you be here tomorrow?" Khirah nodded, and he dissapeared. Her daily vistits with the man became the highlight of her 'day'. He gradually opened up to her, and Khirah found that his life wa snearly as turbulent as her own. Aover the course of a year, Khirah begain to realize that she was falling deeply in love with hm, but she never told him. She wouldn't risk driving him away, because if he left, Khirah knew she would go mad. And this rankeled Khirah a little bit because she was independant, but she learned that it was easier to lean against somebody, then shouldering life alone. And then one day, Khirah's life changed forever.

The bright white blade sliced through the stone that imprisioned Khirah, and she found her bonds that had keep her prisoner for so long hade vanished. Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Khirah leap out of the cave, and looked aroung. She a tall blond man with blue eyes staring at her with a perplexed expression on his face. The man decided with his 'sharp' mind decided that Khirah was an enemy, and he charged a her. Khirah raised her magical barrier, adn he slamed into it, and was thrown across the clearing.

"Gourry!" a short woman with bright orange hair and tuby colored eyes cried as she gather a fireball in her hands. "You'll pay for that!" Khirah sighed

"Why me?" he askedwearily and gathe rher powers around her and prepared to fight.
