Zelgadis blinked his eyes as they filled with tears, no he mustn't cry, Lina wouldn't have wanted him to, but still as he glanced down at the silent form of the flame haired sorceress, he felt the crystalline tears roll down his cheeks. From no on, he was truly alone; his last chance at happiness had died with that little sorceress.

Zel turned around and left the circle of light that surrounded Lina's now still and silent body. He pushed his way past Xellos as he tried to stop him and ignored the weeping Amelia

Zelgadis walked along the silent path until finally, he collapsed on the ground and began to utter great heaving sobs and he cursed the world for taking away his only reason for living. First Rezo, now Lina. She had promised him that she wouldn't die on him, but she had lied just like all the others

"Hay Lina that Shabribindo guy is here." Gourry had shouted and Lina backed away.
"You're going to die and I'll be all alone in this world.
"I won't I swear." And with that, she had gone off and had defeated Shabrinigdo and killed herself in the process.

"How do you know?" Zelgadis asked.
"Sore himitsu desu." Xellos grinned and waggled his finger at Zel.

Zel ran past Xellos and he continued to fun as fast as he could until he could run no more. He had hoped that the extreme physical exercise would help get his mind off of Lina, so he stood there gasping for breath and something else.

"Lina!" he screamed at the cold blue sky. "Why did you leave me?"

Zelgadis had cried himself out and all that remained was an empty shell, filled with guilt, He noticed that night was falling

Zelgadis stared at his reflection and pulled his sword from his scabbard. He couldn't go on anymore. A world without Lina was a world he just didn't want to inhabit.

Zelgadis position his sword above his heart. I will be coming to you soon Lina, know that I loved you. Zelgadis plunged his sword into his chest and gasped as pain flared within his heart.

Zel hears the other cry out as they find hid dying body. Don't worry about me, Zelgadis thought as languorous warmth spread through him. I am going to see Lina. Zelgadis' spirit leaves his body and he is standing about ten feet away from Lina, and she stares at him in shock. Tears fill her ruby eyes and she flew across the distance and hugs him fiercely

"I love you Lina Inverse!" Zelgadis declared after Lina let go of her death grip around his neck.
"And I love you Zelgadis Greyweres, without you, I have nothing, I am empty." Lina kisses Zel with such sadness and open love, Zel felt his heart flutter within his stone chest.

"And I'll love you to forever and back." Lina murmured.
